As part of the Texas Biennial 2011, Contemporary at Blue Star and Big Medium present Texas Biennial: Tom Orr, featuring a sculptural installation entitled “Onagadori” by Tom Orr, curated by Virginia Rutledge.

ARTIST STATEMENT:

This work exists in the space between painting and sculpture. By intuitively placing, leaning and layering shape, color, shadow and light, I am looking for the moment when thought leaves the image and concentrates on idea.

The Texas Biennial is a project of Big Medium, an Austin-based non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to promoting contemporary visual art in Texas, taking place in Austin, Houston, and San Antonio.
