Max rada dada, a folk performance artist, brought his show, “Unexceptional Tricks,” to San Antonio. The show celebrated the Year of the Monkey with tricks performed in uniquely constructed costumes, with rada dada unveiling strange objects and unbelievable paraphernalia. He used objects such as stacked tumblers, balanced pot lids, irons, ropes, a tattooed doll and a wig box to amaze his audience. In the tradition of dada masters Marcel Duchamp and Tristan Tzara, “Unexceptional Tricks” re-imagines everyday objects as sources of visual pun and word play.
“No one’s ever seen this before. I’ve practiced a lot in order to perform my antics atop an ironing board reached by my childhood bunk bed’s ladder.” -rada dada
