Poison Amor was a collaborative exhibition between Terry Allen, from Santa Fe, NM and James Drake, from El Paso, TX. This exhibition was an inspired and challenging collaboration presented by two artists known for their willingness to take risks, human divulgence, and passion for emphatic affirmation. The artists’ long friendship laid the groundwork for the exhibition’s success. The artworks concentrated on death, yet still had an underpinning of regeneration born of a joint conviction that it is in the final space of borderlands that cultural rebirth can occur.
