About the Artist
Doerte Weber is a mostly self-taught artist who weaves with diverse, modern, and quotidian materials. She searches for what quietly exists in our daily surroundings, transforming often overlooked elements into works of art that demand attention. Drawing on traditional weaving patterns, Weber introduces texture to conventionally flat surfaces, offering both familiarity and a tangible connection to history. Her inspirations come from her travels, current events, and her immediate environment. Weber’s work is held in both public and private collections
