Curious about knitting but unsure where to begin? Join our Stitch and ‘wich workshop!Participants willdive into the basics of this relaxing and creative craft, while enjoying tea sandwiches. This beginner-friendly course covers essential knitting techniques, including casting on, casting off, knitting, purling, and reading patterns. Participants will learn how to troubleshoot and correct common mistakes and will have the skills to complete a simple project, such as a scarf. No prior experience required!

About the instructor
Ebony Coleman is a skilled fiber, metals, and sculpture artist, as well as an experienced educator based in San Antonio. A graduate of the Southwest School of Art, Ebony is deeply committed to cultivating a passion for the arts in her students. In addition to teaching a structured curriculum, she runs an after-school program, Kindness Club, where students learn knitting and crochet as effective tools for managing anxiety. The program emphasizes social-emotional development, fostering important discussions to support students’ well-being. In recognition of her dedication and exceptional contributions to education, Ebony was honored with the Teacher of the Year award for the 2023-2024 school year. Her commitment to both artistic education and student development reflects her unwavering passion for nurturing creativity and emotional resilience in her community.
