About the Instructor
Based out of San Antonio, Texas, Hilary Rochow’s practice revolves around an investigation of grief, memory, and connectivity via texture and emotive animal figures. She is best known for large-scale archival ink drawings on heavy, smooth surface paper.
For the past several years Hilary has been exploring how an interest in layered mark making can exist off the wall. These explorations involve ceramic sculpture as well as experimental drawings and sculpture with rice paper. Hilary holds a Bachelor of Industrial Design from Auburn University. Her training and experience in design informs an understanding of visual communication. A lifelong adoration of the natural world weaves its way into the choice of animal and plant subjects.
