About the Instructor:
Caterina is an artist whose work emerges from a rich legacy of fiber arts passed down through generations of women in her family. Inspired by her mother and her grandmother, she began crocheting at the age of six. Her mother crocheted baby clothes for her, while her grandmother created Joy’s wedding dress—just two examples of the pivotal role crochet has played in important life moments. As an artist, Caterinapushes the boundaries of this tradition by experimenting with unconventional materials like wire to create intricate sculptures and contemporary art pieces. At the same time, she enjoys returning to the roots of the craft by embracing freeform crochet with more traditional materials as a way to honor her heritage and express her creativity.
