Escaped Silence exhibited sculptures from George Schroeder, “The ‘Escaped Silence’ series evolved from the concept that sounds can be translated abstractly into forms.” Some forms were mounted on pedestals, while others were freestanding. The twisted, bent forms contained a lot of energy, but they were silent and still. These sculptures represented sounds that have “escaped” from silence and been translated into forms.
