Blue Star 17: Between Past and Future was organized by Maria Elena Botello Mogas and celebrated 17 years of contemporary art in San Antonio. The exhibition featured a variety of media from past and present Blue Star artist board members still living in the San Antonio area. The featured artists included: Jesse Amado, Bernice B. Appelin Williams, Maria Elena Botello Mogas, Rolando Briseño, Jim Broderick, Stephen Daly, Alba de Leon, Alex de Leon, Jane Dunnewold, John Dyer, Bill FitzGibbons, Gini Garcia, Karen Hogensen, Mark Hogensen, Gail Kline, Ken Little, Connie Lowe, Jeannette MacDougal, Roland Mazuca, Diane Mazur, Richard Mogas, Jay Monday, Linda M. Pace, Chuck Ramirez, Steve Reynolds, Riley Robinson, Kent Rush, Regis Shepard, FL. Doc Spellmon, Davis Sprinkle, Amy Stieren, Haydee Victoria Suescum, Lewis Tarver, Tinka Tarver, Robert E. Tiemann, Vincent Valdez, Anita Valencia, Kathy Vargas, Liz Ward, and Terry A. Ybáñez de Santiago. This exhibition was intended to reflect how both the Contemporary and its contributing artists have evolved.
