Costume: Guise and Disguise featured New York designer and San Antonio native Ronald Kolodzie. Kolodzie’s creativity was on display in this retrospective, through sketches, clothing samples, photographs and clippings, depicting his years as a fashion student, design assistant, boutique owner, and chief designer. The exhibition also reflected the close ties between fashion and art, Kolodzie’s design artistry put geometric shapes, fluid materials, tiny pleats, appliques, bold patterns, and exquisite embroidery on parade. His styles were a tangible record of fashion trends and a history lesson about the industry.
