Blue Star on Houston Street 2 was curated by Glenna Park, Riley Robinson, Anita Valencia, and Terry Ybanez and exhibited artworks from artists Nate Cassie, Cathy Cunningham, Meredith Dean, Danny Geisler, Sally Grant, Lars Hundere and Janette Morales, Marilyn Lanfear, Roland Mazuca, Michael Mehl, Lisa Nichols, Chuck Ramirez, Steve Reynolds, Alex Rubio, Chris Sauter, and Victoria Von Koeppen. Glenna Park wrote of the exhibition, “Houston Street Windows are selling aesthetics this month. A common market place has been infiltrated by artists and their installations in an effort to jolt the complacency of the community.” Not only was Houston Street filled with contemporary art in the form of installations influenced by place and the artists’ unique perspectives on life, but also live performances by local artists, such as the multimedia artist Agosto Bianco Cueller, activated the streetscape on opening night.
