Scale/Dimension: Personal/Public exhibited drawings and paintings by Daniel García, an artist from Argentina. García approached issues of scale in formats that move from miniscule drawings to large-scale, bold-colored iconic paintings. The small and the miniscule lead the viewer to conjure other imaginary dimensions, forever expanding our notions of scale. The work reshapes concepts of ‘scale’ in contemporary art and underscores the art historical switch from traditional models of social realism to an aesthetic that is non-specific, contemporary, and international.
