New American Talent: The Thirteenth Exhibition was curated by Robert Storr and exhibited artworks from Val Arber, Rick Arnitz, Conrad Bakker, Laurie L. Balmuth, Tom Bartel, Heike Bartels, Richard E. Basset, Michael Bevilacqua, Thédra Cullar-Ledford, Bill Davenport, Spelman Evans Downer, Celia Eberle, Gina Ferrari, Erick J. Geschke, Michael Guidry, Patrick Hill, Dange Keeout, Mark Keffer, Bonnie Klehr, Joan Linder, Ann Lowe, Giuseppe Luciani, Michael Miller, Greely Myatt, William Rave, Maritza Ranero, Daniel Rosenbasu, Alexander Ross, Amy Ruffo, John Salvest, Patricia Satterlee, Chris Sauter, Hills Snyder, June Wilson, YEK, and Robert Yoder. Storr outlined his prevailing criteria for the show, “The most important factor is whether or not I can remember a thing–painting, drawing, sculpture, photograph or hybrid–when I am no longer looking at it. The second is whether it flutters enough in memory–retains enough of its formal or imagistic instability–to make me want to look again.”
