Five Texas Installations
Mar 17–May 14, 1989
Five Texas Installations was curated by Jeffrey Moore and exhibited artworks from Texas artists Ed Blackburn (Fort Worth), Harry Geffert (Crowley), Ken Little (San Antonio), Jack Mims (Dallas), and Sara Waters (Lubbock). Moore stated in his introduction to the show “the five artists in this exhibition were chosen because of their documented and illustrious pasts, their careful and sincere attention paid to detail and craftsmanship, their variety with regard to both media and content, their willingness to confront aesthetics, social, political and religious concerns with equal energy, and their established presence in current Texas Art criticism. The storyline of this exhibition (by design) can only be tied by perhaps the thinnest of threads, while the visitor is forced to jump and be thrown from topic to media, the impact of each artist’s effort causes the overall exhibition to be unforgettable.”
