Sixth Texas Sculpture Symposium
Mar 19–May 31, 1987
Sixth Texas Sculpture Symposium consisted of installations by six artists: Mary Dritschel, Melinda Hunt, Bill Lundberg, Robert (Roger) Morrison, and Jim Rittiman, a large-scale city-wide exhibition of contemporary sculpture. The show featured 15 exhibitions with some 200 works around the city of San Antonio, where viewers could see everything from small jewel-like objects to enormous public sculpture designed to provoke. Every exhibit featured different styles and mediums, with examples of realism, expressionism, minimalisms and many other trends. Not only that but the works were composed of many different materials, wood, metal, ceramics, neon, and a multitude more, with only one defining feature in common: three dimensions.
