Communications Intern | 2026 Bexar County Arts Internship (Summer)

The Contemporary is currently seeking a Communications Intern for the 2026 Bexar County Arts Internship Program. The Communications Intern will work closely with our New Media & Communications Coordinator on key initiatives, with special focus on Culture and Arts United for San Antonio (CAUSA) and Xicanx Month communications.

This internship offers hands-on experience in arts communications and advocacy. The selected candidate will help develop a comprehensive communications plan for CAUSA (an advocacy collective that the Contemporary is a member of) and support the third annual Xicanx Month, which is facilitated by CAUSA.

This is a  full-time, paid, intern position for undergraduate students. The selected intern must be available to work 40 hours per week for a ten-week period which shall begin on or around June 1, 2026 and end no earlier than August 7, 2026.

General Internships

The Contemporary offers accredited internship opportunities to graduate and undergraduate students in a variety of positions. Internships are typically available in different areas: Director’s Office, Development, Education, and Gallery. These internships offer valuable experience in the inner workings of a high-profile, non-profit organization. These internships are not paid, but each counts as 3-hour credit course under the classification of Internship or Practicum. Internships run eight weeks with a minimum of 10 hours a week.

The internship program at this time is hybrid, depending on the department. Internship opportunities will mostly be virtual, and project based.  For information about applying for an internship at the Contemporary, please contact us at hello@contemporarysa.org.
