Families and kids of all ages are invited to attend Contemporary at Blue Star’s Family Saturday events, Sponsored by H-E-B Tournament of Champions.

This event focuses on our current exhibitions and brings together local artists and community organizations to offer creative activities. Works on view become the inspiration for art making and kids learn how to look at and understand contemporary art better through fun activities.

Featured Activities:

• Spare Parts Wee Sculpture Garden
  Walk away with a lively xeriscaped sculpture garden you create from preloved materials and succulents facilitated by Spare Parts.
• Family Portrait Smorgasbord
  Create unique portraits of you and your family from a variety of materials with Contemporary at Blue Star’s Creative Classroom’s Artist-in-Community Bernice Williams.
• Warp, Wrap, and Weave
  Learn to weave fun patterns with paper and foam with Contemporary at Blue Star’s MOSAIC Student Artist Program Alumna Lulu Castillo.
• Contemporary at Blue Star Art Scavenger Hunt
  Try your luck and smarts at our art scavenger hunt and win a fun prize.
• Our friends from the Conjunto Heritage Taller will be here for a special performance by their students!

These events are free and open to the public and visitors enjoy complimentary food and refreshments. Stay tuned for more information on the activities!
