Big Give Artwork Treasure Hunt

Interested in adding the work of Berlin Residency Program Artists Fernando Andrade, Julia Barbosa Landois, Adriana Corral, Jennifer Ling Datchuk, Leigh Anne Lester, Ethel Shipton, or Vincent Valdez to your collection?

This year for the Big Give we are leading an Artwork Treasure Hunt and everyone who donates to Contemporary at Blue Star through the Big Give website on March 22nd, 2018 will receive a clue to hunt down some artwork!

Follow these 3 easy steps to get involved:

  1. Check out the Artwork Treasure Hunt Schedule below and follow our posts on Facebook and Instagram for reminders on March 22.
  2. Donate to Contemporary at Blue Star through the Big Give website within a frame and 30 minutes later be on the lookout for an email containing a treasure hunt clue.
  3. Once you have your clue, start the Artwork Treasure Hunt to find one of the artworks shown below.

If you are the first to find the artwork certificate*, voila! You’ve started your art collection or you’ve added to it! * Certificate must be brought to Contemporary at Blue Star, 116 Blue Star, San Antonio, TX 78204 to receive your artwork.

Treasure Hunt Schedule

  • 12 am – 7:59 am: Donate to receive the clue for Splitsplice 19 by Leigh Anne Lester
  • 8:30 am: Clue emailed to 12 am – 8 am Donors.
  • 8 am – 10:59 am: Donate to receive the clue for She’s Cool by Julia Barbosa Landois
  • 11:30 am: Clue emailed to 8 am – 11 am Donors
  • 11 am – 1:59 pm: Donate to receive the clue for Portrait #1 by Fernando Andrade
  • 2:30 pm: Clue emailed to 11 am – 2 pm Donors
  • 2 pm – 4:59 pm: Donate to receive the clue for Pendulum by Ethel Shipton
  • 5:30 pm: Clue emailed to 2 pm – 5 pm Donors
  • 5 pm – 7:59 pm: Donate to receive the clue for Basic Bitch & Pussy Power by Jennifer Ling Datchuk
  • 8:30 pm: Clue emailed to 5 pm – 8 pm Donors
  • 8 pm – 11:59 pm: Donate to receive the clue for Seven Days by Vincent Valdez
  • 12:30 am: Clue emailed to 8 pm – 11:59 pm Donors

If you weren’t the first to find the artwork, don’t worry! 

Everyone who donates to Contemporary at Blue Star throughout the Big GIve is eligible* to win Adriana Corral’s Bones, 2012, through a random drawing Friday, March 23, 2018. * You are only eligible if you have not already found a Treasure Hunt Artwork.

Small Print: Donations must be made within the time frame specified to receive that particular Artwork Treasure Hunt Clue. Contemporary at Blue Star will not see the email addresses for anonymous donors, and will, therefore, be unable to email those donors a clue. Clues will be emailed by Contemporary at Blue Star’s Development Manager, Elaine Leahy from elaine@contemporarysa.org; donors should check their email settings to ensure timely arrival. The Clue email may be later than the time specified should there be any technological failings or delays in reporting; Contemporary at Blue Star will email all known donors with updates should there be time changes. Donors may make multiple donations throughout the day to receive clues for the various artworks. Donations before or after March 22 are ineligible for the Artwork Treasure Hunt Clues. The Clues will lead donors to a Certificate to redeem the artwork at Contemporary at Blue Star. (We don’t want to leave artwork outside!) Contemporary at Blue Star will verify the donation and the certificate upon redemption.
Donations before March 22 through March 22 at 11:59 pm are eligible for a chance to win Adriana Corral’s Bones. Contemporary at Blue Star will not see the email addresses for anonymous donors, and will, therefore, be unable to email those donors about the raffle. A donation is considered one entry. Donors may make multiple donations and receive multiple entries. Need not be present to win the raffle.
