Bring your friends and family to enjoy our fall exhibitions for FREE and catch a performance by artist Joe Harjo for our current exhibition Monarchs: Brown and Native Contemporary Artists in the Path of the Butterfly!

**POSTPONED—New Date TBD** Joe Harjo’s Honor and Loss in the Time of Cultural Appropriation is from an ongoing series titled Dead Indians, which uncovers the lack of visibility of Native American culture, identity, and lived experience due to the continued absence of proper representation and to appropriation in mainstream culture. The work debunks the resulting myth that reduces Indians to either being extinct, subjects of anthropological textbooks, or mystified dwellers of the distant past. Dead Indians explores the line between truth and fabrication, giving voice to the present-day struggles and to the progressive, contemporary movement.
